How we work

CareerTrek is not a news outlet. We don't break stories or report original news. We read official and expert sources, such as SARS, Statistics South Africa, government departments and established employers and recruiters. Then we explain what they say in plain language, with a worked example where it helps.

Every article lists the sources it draws on. If a figure varies between sources, or we couldn't confirm it, we say so and tell you where to check. Photos come from Pexels, and each article photo carries its credit.
